The Community Hospital Auxiliary met on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. in the Hospital Conference Room. President Rose Munsey opened the meeting and 15 members and one guest recited the Auxiliary Prayer. Robin Salfrank, the auxiliary mentor, introduced the guest, Denise McEnaney. Denise is the new head of the Dietary Department. She told us more about herself and her job. The auxiliary looks forward to working with Denise in the future. It’s great to have one of our hometown “kids” return and fill such an important role in our healthcare system.
The minutes of the previous meeting and the treasurer’s reports were given and approved as read.
The Sunshine Corner gift shop has lots of new Christmas and winter items, including many great gift options for people of all ages. The Auxiliary likes to show its appreciation to the hospital staff and auxiliary volunteers by offering a 20% off coupon to each staff and member. They will receive the coupons in the mail or at the hospital and can be used on the following dates: December 6, 7, and 10.
The Auxiliary Angel tree will be going up on November 15. It will be located in the hospital lobby across from the gift shop. Everyone is encouraged to remember special people in their lives by honoring them with an angel or an angel may also be purchased in memory of loved ones. Each honor/memory angel may be purchased in the gift shop for $10.00. You will receive a crocheted angel to enjoy at home and a metal angel with your loved one’s name will be put on the tree in the lobby. All monetary benefits from your angel purchase go to purchase needed hospital equipment.
Upcoming Auxiliary events include: Thursday, November 29, 6:30 a.m. – 12 noon is the Poinsettia Sale in the Hospital Conference Room; and Thursday, December 13, 2-4 p.m. is the Appreciation Tea for hospital employees.
There will be no regular meeting or crafts in December. The next meeting will be January 17, 2019, at 1:30 p.m. with crafts to follow immediately after.
