• Tai Chi classes for arthritis and fall prevention

  • Tarkio Rotary BBQ cookout

    The Tarkio Rotary Club invites all hungry residents to stop by Hy-Vee in Tarkio every Saturday in April and May (weather permitting) for tasty barbecue food. From 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., fresh off-the-grill hot dogs, brats, hamburgers, and steak sandwiches will be served in the parking lot of the grocery store.

    The Fairfax Farmers Market has begun for the 2025 season and will be set up at Broadway and Hwy. 59 every Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon throughout the summer. All vendors are welcome.   • Seven-county scrub seal project to begin May 19

    A seven-county scrub seal project will lengthen the lifespan of roadways in Atchison, Holt, Nodaway, Andrew, Buchanan, Clinton and DeKalb counties. The Missouri Department of Transportation contracted Vance Brothers, Inc. to resurface the routes beginning Monday, May 19.     The Rock Port High School Blue Jays' Baseball Team will compete in the Class 1, District 16 Tournament, with their first game to be played Monday, May 19, at 4 p.m. against the winner of the North Andrew and North Nodaway game (that game is to be played on May 16).
