The Rock Port High School Baseball Team will host Maysville at 5 p.m. at the city ball field Monday, May 12. Seniors who played spring sports and their parents will be honored before the start of the game in a special ceremony.
Bingo at the Rock Port Senior Center, 505 Country Club Drive, is scheduled the second and fourth Tuesday of every month. Games start at 10:00 a.m. so you will have to enjoy a game or two with friends before lunch. The next Bingo games will be May 13.
Fairfax R-3 Elementary, Jr. High, and High School students will be recognized for their achievements this year in an awards' assembly that begins at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, in the high school gym. This is also the last day of school and classes will dismiss early.
Classes at Tarkio R-I will be dismissing at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, May 15, as this is the last day of school for summer break.
Students at Rock Port R-II will be presented with awards in an assembly at the school from 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Thursday, May 15.
A Rock Port R-II Fine Arts' Banquet will be held at the school from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 15.
Free summer meals for all kids and teens will begin when the school year ends. Meals are free to children under the age of 18 and adults coming with a child can eat free, thanks to Community Services. The Tarkio Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting Friday, May 16, at Boundless Grace, 402 Main Street in Tarkio. The ribbon cutting will be at 4:00 p.m. along with an open house. Refreshments will be available. The owners of the new business are Cassie Shaw, Jami DeRosier, and Mandy Whipple.
The East Atchison Wolves will take on the Northeast Nodaway team in District baseball action Friday, May 16, in Burlington Junction at 4 p.m.
