Rock Port will host DeKalb in high school baseball action at the city ball field at 5 p.m. Friday, May 9.

The Rock Port FFA Greenhouse Flower/Plant Sale will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 9, and from 8 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday, May 10. The greenhouse is located on the school west lot.

The Nodaway County household hazardous waste (HHW) collection site will be open Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Good luck to all of our local athletes as they compete in District track and field competitions in Worth County, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Grant City Saturday, May 10.

Tarkio High School graduation will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 11, in the high school gym. The graduates will create a receiving line on the east side of the building following the ceremony or in the hallway if it is raining.

Tarkio Tech campus cleanup Tarkio Technology Institute is hosting a clean-up week May 12-16 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Volunteers are needed to work inside and outside the buildings. The next Second Harvest mobile food pantry in Atchison County will be Monday, May 12, at Rock Port High School, 600 S. The Rock Port High School Baseball Team will host Maysville at 5 p.m. at the city ball field Monday, May 12. Seniors who played spring sports and their parents will be honored before the start of the game in a special ceremony.

Bingo at the Rock Port Senior Center, 505 Country Club Drive, is scheduled the second and fourth Tuesday of every month. Games start at 10:00 a.m. so you will have to enjoy a game or two with friends before lunch. The next Bingo games will be May 13.

Fairfax R-3 Elementary, Jr. High, and High School students will be recognized for their achievements this year in an awards' assembly that begins at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, in the high school gym. This is also the last day of school and classes will dismiss early.
