The Community Hospital Auxiliary met April 21, 2016, with 18 members and one guest reciting the Auxiliary Prayer.
Roger Steinkruger, Hospital CEO, gave a brief update on recent happenings at the hospital, area clinics, and new programs being offered in connection with the hospital. All members were invited and encouraged to attend the Sterling Connections informational open house following the regular meeting.
The minutes and Treasurer’s Report of the March 16 meeting were read and approved.
The Auxiliary has agreed to purchase an elliptical machine for the hospital. It is currently being researched to find the best one to fit the needs of the hospital.
The gift shop has many new items including diffusers that light up with color, detangling hair brushes, and lots of new scarves, and jewelry. All CD’s are on sale for $7.50.
The spring housecleaning sale of items from the gift shop was a big success. The left over items were donated to Tiffany Care Center in Mound City, Missouri. Other area nursing homes have received donations from the auxiliary in past years.
The Auxiliary is working with local law enforcement to sponsor a Drug Take Back Program. The program provides a place for you to take unused and unneeded nonprescription or prescription medicines in a safe manner. They will be set up in the following locations on Saturday, June 4.
Fairfax: 8:00 – 9:30 a.m. at Community Hospital-Fairfax
Tarkio: 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. at Farmers State Bank
Rock Port: 12:00 noon – 12:30 p.m. at Hippo’s Happy Car Wash.
Auxiliary members were pleased with the turnout and sales of the Spring Bake Sale and the Spring Plant Sale. They greatly appreciate the donations of Hurst Greenery and Northwest Missouri Industries, Inc.
The next meeting will be on Thursday, May 26, at 1:30 p.m. Anyone interested in joining the Auxiliary is welcome to attend and join them.
