Jerry Schooler, Fairfax graduate, and his daughter, Claire, have created a comic strip called Knee Jerk Comics. Their website was designed by another Fairfax graduate, Charlie Golden.
Chris and Marisa Hedlund, Fairfax, are the parents of a son, Collin Bryant, born May 26 at Community Hospital Association in Fairfax.
The Liberty Theatre will present “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)” at the Atchison County Memorial Building in Rock Port, Missouri.
Community Hospital Association has been smoke-free inside the hospital for some time, but plans are in process to institute policies and procedures to ban tobacco use inside and outside.

The red rock memorial, recently constructed by Dr. J.B. McRae of Mound City, was dedicated Friday night in the Fairfax City Park. The memorial and flag pole are in memory of our veterans.
Xi Lambda Beta sorority has selected the first yards of the month. The honors go to Betty Elder, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Jim McConnell, and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Van Gundy.
Robert Ewens has been appointed to serve the United Methodist Church in Fairfax. Cleo R. Colville will serve the Burr Oak and Sharp’s Grove churches.

The beautification committee of the Community Betterment organization is working to see the “Make Fairfax Beautiful” idea spread into all sections of the community. Downtown improvements include new sidewalks on the south side of Main Street, and a new front on the Brandon building.
Rev. Champ Breeden, Jr., was returned to the Fairfax-Sharp’s Grove charge by the West Missouri Methodist Conference.
Preliminary plans for new housing are being reviewed by the Fairfax Senior Citizens Housing Board. One of the hardest hurdles the local organization has to make is the acquisition of a suitable site.
