The Fairfax Volunteer Fire Department and Fairfax Rural Fire Protection District are the recipients of a fire truck, donated by the South Adams County Fire Protection District (SACFPD) in Commerce City, Colorado. Each time the SACFPD purchases a new truck for their fleet, they donate the oldest truck to a small rural department that is in need of one. The truck is a 1997 HME/Smeal Pumper with a 1250 gpm pump and 750 gallon water tank. It is also outfitted with a light tower, deck gun, hydraulic ladder rack and top mounted pump controls.
The Fairfax Volunteer Fire Department and Fairfax Rural Fire Protection District are grateful to South Adams County Fire Protection District for the truck and also to Jamie and Barb Lewis of Fairfax for hauling the truck back from Colorado. This truck will greatly improve the Fairfax Rural Fire Protection District’s ability to serve the district.
