Shenandoah Medical Center proudly welcomes Internal Medicine physician, Susan Wilkinson, M.D. Adding Dr. Wilkinson to the SMC team of caring providers offers adults a level of specialized care. General internists provide a level of specialty care to adults with conditions ranging from multiple chronic diagnoses to severe illnesses. They often provide the medical management services for patients undergoing surgery or other special treatments.
Karen S. Cole, President and Chief Executive Officer of Shenandoah Medical Center, remarked, “We are pleased to add a new Internal Medicine physician with Dr. Wilkinson’s training and education.” Ms. Cole continued, “Dr. Wilkinson comes to us with her husband from Nebraska; they love the outdoors and living in a rural community. Dr. Wilkinson recently completed a one-year assignment working for the United States Air Force where she cared for retirees, their dependents, and active duty personnel. We are pleased to welcome Dr. Wilkinson and her husband to Shenandoah Medical Center and the communities served.”
Dr. Wilkinson, a University of Vermont College of Medicine graduate, completed her postgraduate work at the Strong Memorial Hospital – University of Rochester, New York, and the Mayo Clinic and Foundation. Dr. Wilkinson is certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine and holds a subspecialty in Infectious Diseases.
Please join Dr. Wilkinson and her husband at the Wabash Winery on Thursday, June 9, 2016, at 5:30 p.m. They will meet the community at a short reception preceding the monthly Science Café.
