Judy (Jackson) Lisle, the daughter of Lloyd Earl and Lela May (Tallant) Jackson was born October 9, 1943, in Phelps City, Missouri. She attended Phelps City and Rock Port, Missouri, schools. Judy was employed by Trail’s End in Rock Port for many years as a waitress until ill health forced her to stop working. In 1995, Judy earned her GED and began college at Peru State College, Peru, Nebraska, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 2001.
In 2007, Judy received Jesus as her LORD and Savior and was later baptized by Pastor Cornelius Schelling in July of that year. Judy was a member of the Grace Church and was active in numerous ministries. Judy passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016, at her home in Rock Port at the age of 72. A memorial service was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2016, Grace Church, Rock Port. Inurnment followed in Linden Cemetery, Rock Port. Services were conducted by Pastor Chris Shimmel.
Besides her parents, Judy was preceded in death by siblings, Lloyd (Boise), Wilbur, Jack, Audley, Cletus and John Jackson, Edith Record, Leola Lewis, Sally Anderson, Lela Painter and Joan Humphreys. Survivors include daughter, Dana Thompson and husband, James, Fairfax, Missouri; son, Paul Thomas Hughes, Rock Port; daughter, Stephanie Anderson and husband, Rusty, Hopkins, Missouri; grandchildren, Jayme Thompson, Derrick Cheek, Shayna Fisher and Tarynne Poe; one great-grandchild, Chase Fisher; siblings, Jean Jochim and husband, Jim, and Linda Fuston and husband, Pat, all of Rock Port; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
