Billy D. Yost was born in Nebraska City, Nebraska on February 18, 1932. He was one of three children of Paul and Leona (Ingram) Yost. Billy worked for American Meter in Nebraska City for many years. He also served in the National Guard for 11 years.
He married Jean Humann in 1954, and they became parents of three children.
Billy passed away at the home of his daughter on July 1, 2016 at the age of 84. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Conrad; sister, Helen Miller; and maternal grandmother Eva Ingram.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Jean, of Rock Port; sons Dennis, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Gregory (Dianna) Nebraska City, Nebraska; daughter Sally (Harvey) Hurst, Rock Port; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and special friend Bob Scroggins.
Billy was a member of the Presbyterian Church, American Legion and Elks Club. He was an avid Nebraska fan, and enjoyed golf and fishing.
Memorial services 2:30 Saturday, July 9, Watson Baptist Church. Memorials to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Watson Baptist Church Food Pantry. The family will greet friends at the home of Sally and Harvey Hurst following the services. Care Entrusted to Chamberlain Funeral Home, Rock Port, Missouri.
