Patricia Ann Edwards was born February 3, 1937, in Fairfax, Missouri, the oldest daughter of Zenith S. “Pete” Fletcher and Hattie Eunice (Powell) Fletcher. Pat grew up in Fairfax and attended school there, graduating from high school in 1956.
She became the wife of Alfred R. Edwards and they later divorced.
Pat had lived in Kansas City, Missouri, where she worked for Hallmark Cards. In 1972 she moved to Topeka, Kansas, and became employed by the State of Kansas, where she worked as a dietician. Pat retired as dietary manager at Kansas Neurological Institute in 1999. Over the years, Pat held several positions in the Kansas Dietary Managers Association, including district secretary and district president.
After a period of declining health, she died June 26, 2016, at Aldersgate Village Care facility in Topeka.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Carolyn Warmington.
She is survived by sons: Alan and wife Deanna of Rogers, Arkansas, and Bryon and wife Cindy of San Marcos, California; daughters: Carna and husband Patrick Weissbeck, and Linda Shepherd, all of Topeka, Kansas. Pat is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Lukas, Quentin, Jessica, Danielle, Dustin, Chelsey, Ryon, Kaley, Joshua and Justin, and by great-grandchildren: Briley, Hadley, Creighton, Ellee, Vayda, Avery, Buelyn and Rixton.
Pat enjoyed antique shopping and several arts and crafts. She especially enjoyed completing jigsaw puzzles.
Graveside services were held Friday, July 1, 2016, at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Fairfax, conducted by Rev. Elaine Loggi.
Services were under the direction of Schooler Funeral Home, Fairfax.
