On July 27 and 28, the doors of the annual Back to School Fairs opened to the sound of many excited children and their families. 129 students in Atchison and Holt Counties were provided a new back pack full of supplies, a $10 gift card to Payless Shoe Store and the opportunity to take advantage of many services offered including free haircuts and dental checks.
The Back to School Fairs are a success due to the many generous donations of businesses, community groups and individuals across Atchison and Holt, the partnership of Community Services and Salvation Army and volunteers from Community Hospital-Fairfax that fill the back packs for each child. The Back to School Fairs are an annual event coordinated by Community Hospital-Fairfax with much assistance from Community Services.
