Attention deer hunters!! If you’re curious what your deer antlers might score or wondered if your deer antlers were big enough for the record books, here’s your chance to find out. Each year, the Northwest Region of the Missouri Department of Conservation hosts an “Antler Measuring Day.” This event allows deer hunters the opportunity to have their whitetail deer antlers measured by official scorers for state and national honors in the following categories:
• Boone and Crockett Club – Firearms and Archery
• Pope and Young Club – Archery
• Missouri Show-Me Big Bucks – Firearms and Archery
• NMLRA Longhunters – Muzzle Loader
The 48th Annual Antler Measurement Day will be held Saturday, August 27, 2016, at East Hills Mall in St. Joseph, Missouri. The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. There is no charge for measuring the antlers, but antlers will be measured on a first come, first served basis. It’s a great opportunity to view several nice quality deer racks. If you have questions about the event, you can contact the Missouri Department of Conservation, Northwest Regional Office, at 816-271-3100.
