Xi Lambda Beta members are showing off their latest project – the purchase of new swings for the Fairfax City Park in time for the annual Fairfax Fair. Fairfax Xi Lambda Beta chapter of Beta Sigma Phi has enjoyed using the proceeds from their Christmas greenery sales in November to spread lots of goodwill throughout the area.
Projects over the past year and a half, with donations totaling well over $6,000, include the following: adopting a Christmas family, elementary trip to Jefferson City, After Prom Party; Fairfax Academic Banquet, Easter Egg Hunt, Fairfax School air conditioners, school band uniforms; baritone saxophone donation, Fairfax Light Night, Community Hospital-Fairfax Cornerstone Club and Maple Tree Project, C.A.R.E. of Atchison County, Liberty Theatre sponsorship, National FBLA Convention attendee, Second Harvest Back-Pack Buddies, Tarkio Food Pantry, Fairfax storm clean-up; and the latest, new swings in the park.
