Rev. Glen D. Henley, 71, of St. Joseph, Missouri, was born April 1, 1945, in Mercer County, Missouri, the son of Clarence Ray and Veta Rosalee (Snyder) Henley and gave up his earthly toils to take on a crown of righteousness from his Savior and Lord on Sunday, August 7, 2016.
On May 27, 1977, he married Ginger G. Conn in Line-ville, Iowa. She survives of the home. Glen loved his God and loved to serve Him with all his heart. God and family was his life and he loved to laugh. He was known for his ability to solve any maintenance, mechanical, electrical, plumbing or carpentry issue. He could build something out of nothing. He served in ministry as pastor, evangelist, deacon, missionary, youth leader, royal ranger leader, and children’s ministry. He had a servant’s heart.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents; son, Daniel, age 6; brothers, Forest, Clarence, Paul, E.J., and Philip Henley; sisters, Margie, Thelma, Anita May, and Mary Jane; two infant grandsons, Gabriel Peace and Micheal; and granddaughter, Heather. In addition to his wife, Ginger, survivors include daughter, Margie Vose, Macon, Missouri; sons, Jesse (Monica) Henley, South Sioux City, South Dakota, Scott (Linda) Barnes, Des Moines, Iowa, and Allen (Cassandra) Henley, St. Joseph; sisters, Ruth (Orville) Meredith, Bettendorff, Iowa, Lucy Hamilton, Oskaloosa, Iowa, and Marie (Ron) Johnson, Winona, Missouri; 16 grandchildren, Gina, Clint, Luke, Bethany, Sarah, Shayla, Draven, Seth, Zachary, Craig, Mark, Bella, Landon, Krezdyn, Jimmy Hendrix, and Hunter; eight great-grandchildren; three foster daughters; 11 foster grandchildren; and three foster great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, August 12, 2016, at the Assembly of God Church, Bethany, Missouri, under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Princeton, Missouri. Burial followed in Princeton Cemetery.
