The District 4 meeting of American Legion Auxiliary was held Monday evening, August 17, in Burlington Junction, Missouri. The meeting for units in District 4 was conducted by Sheridan Meyers. Following a buffet supper, officers for the ensuing year were installed.
Three members from Fairfax Unit 284, John Richards Unit were in attendance: Nancy Gaines, Ann Wensel and Marcia Martin. Other units present were Graham and Maitland Unit 256, Rock Port Unit 49, Burlington Junction Unit 315 and Tarkio Unit 199. There were 24 present.
National headquarters would like the American Legion Auxiliary to have one million members by 2019. Sheridan gave all a survival kit, along with a tootsie roll and a paper clip. The tootsie roll denotes we should let small stuff roll off our backs, and the paper clip stands for together we work.
