A wet and lightning-delayed game put a damper on the East Atchison Wolves’ first football game of the season Friday, August 19, 2016, in Fairfax, Missouri. The night saw the Wolves losing 16-52 to Southwest Livingston. The first two quarters were tough for the Wolves as Southwest Livingston scored 22 points in the first and 14 in the second. Both teams scored eight points in the third and eight in the fourth, but it wasn’t enough for the Wolves.
Wolves’ freshman quarterback Jake McEnaney had 79 passing yards in the game. Wolves’ sophomore running back and wide receiver Gage McAdams had 107 rushing yards. Wolves’ sophomore tight end and linebacker Garrett Meyer had 67 receiving yards. EA had 217 total yards compared to Southwest Livingston’s 520. EA had two turnovers compared to Southwest Livingston’s five and no interceptions versus Southwest Livingston’s three.
The Wolves will travel to North Nodaway on Friday, August 26, to compete against NorthWest Nodaway. The game begins at 7 p.m. in Hopkins, Missouri.
