Tarkio High School will be celebrating its 2016 Fall Homecoming the week of September 5, with the homecoming game to be played Friday, September 9, in Fairfax. The THS Homecoming royalty includes: queen candidates – Bree Barnett, Shelby McCartney, and Haley Hall; and king candidates – Dawson Joesting and Noah Brooks. Homecoming attendants include: juniors – Prima Mangkasing and Colin Joesting; sophomores – Lily Graves and Gage McAdams; and freshmen – Jae Barnett and Jake McEnaney.
A number of funfilled festivities will be held throughout the week, including business window painting, dress-up days, banner contest, class contests, jersey sale, bonfire, float contest/parade, and homecoming game and coronation. Each class has been given an olympic sport to go with the theme.

The East Atchison Youth Wolves Football Team will take on the East Atchison Wolves High School Football Team at 6 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, at the Fairfax football field. A jersey auction (Fairfax jerseys only) will begin at 7 p.m., followed by speeches from the coaches and senior players. A bonfire will begin at approximately 8:15 p.m. to end that night’s festivities.
Tarkio players’ jerseys will go on sale Thursday, September 1, and can be purchased for $25 each. See Suzanne Brought in the high school office to purchase a jersey. Money raised from the sales will go to National Honor Society.
The parade on Friday, September 9, will take place at 1:15 p.m. on Main Street in Tarkio. Everyone is encouraged to come watch the parade! A pep assembly will be held at the football field in Tarkio immediately following the parade. The homecoming football game will begin at 7 p.m. that night in Fairfax. The Wolves will play DeKalb. The Fairfax CTA will be providing a meal fundraiser at the game. The cheerleaders will perform at halftime and both Tarkio and Fairfax queens and kings will be crowned following the game.
