The Atchison County Piecemakers Quilt Guild met September 6, 2016, for their regular monthly meeting. Present were: Jean Mensen, Bev Walker, Becky Hogue, Donna Heck and Shirley Rader. The meeting was called to order by co-chair Shirley Rader. Roll call was answered with “What was your favorite subject when you were in school?”
The treasurer’s report was given by Bev. The Krazy Quilters from Maryville have invited the Piecemakers to their event on September 19, 2016. The theme is “Down on the Farm.”
Discussion was held on the barn quilt to be given away. The barn quilt needs to be displayed in area business. Someone will check with Sara and Gerry on this. Tickets have been sold, and members are still working on selling more tickets. The name of the Barn Quilt is “Eddie Stone Light.”
Discussion was held on a sewing day with Eunice. The date is yet to be determined.
Fat quarter participant was one.
Show and Tell was held. Bev displayed a multicolored quilt called “Anita’s Arrow.” Donna showed her work in progress, two different colored sets of blocks of the month. One was in fall colors and the other was done in bright colors. Jean, Donna, Bev and Karen showed their completed “Children of Israel” block.
Donna made the motion to adjourn and Bev seconded.
The next meeting is October 4, 2016. Roll call will be, “What you liked about Halloween.” Everyone should bring fat quarter and or three 2.5” jelly roll strips. Becky is in charge of refreshments for October. Garden of Eden is the next block to complete.
