Children love books and use them in different ways depending on their level and knowledge of books. Learning to read starts with being able to hold a book and turn the pages, then being able to hold the book in the right position. Preschool children learn to read the picture and retell a story that was read to them. Pre-reading skills open the imagination and build a foundation for the love and knowledge of literacy. Jaxson and Caroline are pictured above, enjoying their books at Center Time.
