Allen-Schiffern American Legion Post #199 held a recognition of families whose loved ones are serving in the military and who are on active duty, part or full-time, on Saturday, September 17, 2016, at the Tarkio American Legion Building. It’s an American tradition to display a Blue Star Service Banner in the window of a home when a loved one is proudly serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.
Honored at the event included Kyle Portor, whose banner was accepted by his mother, Teena Houston, and Ian Young, whose banner was accepted by his grandmother, Fran Houston.
