Shenandoah Medical Center (SMC) is proud to announce a new appointment reminder service. With today’s frenetic pace of life, it is easy to miss a scheduled appointment. While telephone reminders are helpful, increasingly people prefer to be contacted via email and/or text.
Access to care is a primary concern of the Shenandoah Medical Center Medical Team. SMC physicians and nurse practitioners want to provide patients the right care at the right time. Reducing the number of forgotten appointments in a day will help to improve access to SMC physicians and nurse practitioners.
“By providing patients with an appointment reminder service through text messaging and email, we feel confident that patients will receive the message, and either attend the appointment, or cancel if they can no longer make it,” said Shenandoah Medical Center CEO and President Karen S. Cole.
