Tarkio High School FFA fundraiser- The Tarkio FFA Chapter will be giving away an American Farmer Edition Ruger 10-22. Only 3,000 were manufactured worldwide. The gun is worth $500. Tickets are 1 for $5 or 5 for $20. The gun will be given away on Friday, October 14, 2016. If you are interested in purchasing tickets, call 660-736-4118 ext 4200 or stop by the school. Funds raised will be used for FFA activities and trips.
Jr. high football- The EA Wolves Junior High Football Team defeated North Andrew 42-8 on September 26, 2016.
Ian Hedlund had 4 rushing touchdowns and scored twice on 2-point conversions. Kaylin Merriweather had 1 rushing touchdown and scored on a 2-point conversion. Aaron Schlueter returned a blocked punt for touchdown and had a fumble recovery on defense. Carter Holecek intercepted a pass on defense.
Lady Wolves Girls’ Golf Team- The East Atchison Girls’ Golf Team hosted Rock Port, Missouri, and Auburn, Nebraska, in a tri-meet at Tarkio Golf Course on Tuesday, September 20, 2016. EA won the event with a team score of 207, followed by Rock Port in 2nd with a team score of 226, and Auburn in 3rd with a team score of 263. Lady Wolf Bree Barnett was the match medalist with a 44.

The junior high teams (black and orange) started the night off with winning their matches in two games each. The orange team won their match 25-18 and 25-12. Golfers play last home match- The East Atchison Lady Wolves competed in their last home golf match of the season on Thursday, September 22, 2016. The Lady Wolves took on the Rock Port Lady Blue Jays at the Tarkio Golf Course. East Atchison won the contest with a team score of 202. Rock Port’s team score was 223. Bree Barnett and Lauren Quimby were match medalists, each having a score of 46.

Trap Shooters compete- Tarkio High School Trap Shooting Team members have once again loaded the guns and aimed at a successful trap shooting season. The trap shooters competed in an event in Smithville, Missouri, on Saturday, September 24, 2016. EA Wolves lose to Panthers- The East Atchison Wolves Football Team took on the Panthers in Mound City, Missouri, on Friday, September 23, 2016. The Wolves lost the contest 30-72.
Gage McAdams had 56 rushing yards. Jake McEnaney had 45 passing yards. Garrett Meyer had 37 receiving yards. EA’s total yardage was 244 (70 passing and 174 rushing) vs. Mound City’s 515. EA had three turnovers, one fumble lost and two interceptions, and had eight penalties in the game. Total tackles for EA included: Garrett Meyer – 10 tackles, 1 fumble recovery; Shae DeRosier – 8 tackles; Conner Marshall – 6 tackles; Gage McAdams – 6 tackles; Jake McEnaney – 3 tackles; and Jayce Navin – 3 tackles.
