Thanks to all of the community support this year, the Fairfax FCCLA and FFA chapters went above our goal of 37 units and hit 45 units of blood. Each year, the Community Blood Center needs to collect approximately 155,550 units of blood, and we are so thankful for the community, as well as people from surrounding communities, coming to our high school and donating blood.
Because of screening the healthiest people possible and completing donor eligibility standards, the blood is safer than it has ever been. Ninety-eight percent of the blood collected last Monday night stays right here in our community!
Once again, thank you to everyone who came to donate – you’re helping save the lives of your neighbors, friends, and families.
