The Fairfax Kiwanis Club has collected discarded batteries from cars, trucks, tractors, combines, and lawn mowers for several years. The batteries are sold to a company, and the Kiwanis, in turn, have used the funds to send youth to various educational forums, provide donations for youth, activities, and make improvements for Fairfax, etc.
Their next “big haul” of batteries will be soon and the Kiwanis Club is asking for donations of used batteries to assist them in their fundraising efforts to provide additional funds for the youth of this area.
Anyone wishing to donate old batteries may drop them off at the collection site just behind the old City Hall in Fairfax by Friday, October 14. All proceeds received from this project will go toward the designation of another Kiwanis project. Help the Kiwanis keep youth involved!
If you have questions about the battery project, contact Kiwanis member, Bob Alldredge at Fairfax Agency, Inc., 660-686-0206 or 660-253-0034.
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time.
