PAINTING
I hopped into my time machine(it’s small, but will take me anywhere)and traveled back to the 16th century. I landed at a nice church and ventured inside.
I yelled, “Hello.”
I heard a muffled sound and searched the area.
There was scaffolding in the church, and someone atop them, so I scrambled up there. (In my time machine, I can do that)
This guy was painting the ceiling.
“Who are you?” I asked.
“Are you serious?” He answered. “I’m famous.”
“Hello, Famous, Kay, here. Nice to meet you.”
“Why are you here?” Famous asked.
“Just looking around. What are you doing?”
“Ah, painting this ceiling.” He said. “You can’t see that?”
“I see that. Very interesting. How do you know how the big picture will turn out, doing little bits at a time.”
“I’m not really an artist, I’m a sculptor, but I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out.”
“How neat. It’s like making a quilt. Take small pieces and put them together to make the bigger picture.”
“I’ve never seen one of your quilts in a church.” Famous said.
“Bet you would if the electricity went out in the winter time.” I said.
“Electricity? What’s that?”
“You know, when you flip a switch and the lights come on, when you set the thermostat and the hear comes on.”
“You must be crazy. Go away.” Famous said.
“Okie dokie.I can take a hint.”
I scrambled back down. Guess he wasn’t ready for me yet.
