October 21, 1976
Rock Port High School Marching Band won the class S division championship trophy and Supremacy Trophy for being the best band at the Northwest Missouri State University homecoming parade. There were 30 bands that competed. The band is directed by Ken Greiner.

October 23, 1986
Bob Hurtig son of Arnold and Elsie Hurtig, Rock Port, will be returning back to Antarctica after a brief visit home. Bob works for Federal Electric Corporation, which is a subsidiary of International Telephone & Telegraph. He will return to the South Pole Station, Antarctica for the summer season.

October 24, 1996
Jamie Evans, Jackie Miller, Kyra Mills, Jim Skillen, and Del Stoltenberg were the local educators honored in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. The teachers are selected by their former students.

October 19, 2006
Erica Dickey, of Overland Park, KS and Jesse Murphy, of Rock Port, were united in marriage on Saturday, July 15. The wedding took place at Mozingo Lake. Erica is the daughter of Mark and Anita Dickey, of Overland Park, KS. Jesse is the son of Leslie Bremer of Rock Port and James Murphy, of Fairfax.
