Aleesha and Garrett Ball, Fairfax MO, brought their nieces Darby Morris and Jazmine Talbot, both of Mound City Mo., to enjoy the “Night at the Museum” fun at the Holt County Historical Society’s Methodist Church Museum, in Fortescue.

The Holt County Historical Society’s Methodist Church Museum at Fortescue, Mo., was filled with about sixty adults and children, carrying flashlights, ready for the Society’s Night at the Museum event Saturday night. On arrival each child registered and received a map of clues to search for those that were tagged throughout and sent on their way. Hosts were around to offer hints and guidance and answer many questions that included, “what’s a Victrola?”, “where’s the grocery store?”, or I can’t find a sewing machine”. Tiny white Christmas lights were around but a flashlight was necessary to read the many tagged items.
The final clue on the list read “go to the kitchen for treats!” Halloween cupcakes, drinks and prizes along with visiting was waiting in the kitchen!
Society hosts for the event were: Norma McCurry, Mound City; LeAlison Markt and Kallista Noel, Oregon, MO; Sally Waggoner, White Cloud, KS; Jackson Yates, Lawrence, KS; and Elizabeth Burnsides, Maryville, MO. Guests registered from White Cloud, Fairfax, Mound City, Craig, Big Lake, Oregon, and Forest City.
