Ticket are available for the New Horizons 2016 Christmas Tour of Homes.  The tour will be held December 11th from 2:00 to 5:00 PM.  Tickets are $15 and available at the following locations: Em’s Emporium, Stoner Drug, KG Buds and Flower Mill or by contacting any New Horizon member.
Proceeds from the Christmas Tour of Home’s will benefit the New Horizon Scholarship Fund.  This weeks featured home is: The Meyerkorth home was built in 1973. In 1988 a new addition included the high beamed ceiling great room and a large corner fireplace built by Duane Smith.  The addition for the lower area included another bedroom and a large storage room.
In 2008, Ryan and Becky purchased the home from the Batschelet’s and started stripping wall paper.  Every wall in the house was painted, including a few ceilings.  Wood paneling was removed in a bedroom and the basement, followed by massive sheet rock repair.
In 2012, the home’s exterior received new siding and stone work. That same year, all of the main level trim and doors received a new coat of white paint, along with new door handles. A lighted display shelving unit was installed above the breakfast bar and bathrooms were completely renovated.
In 2015, Becky stripped the carpet from the entryway stairs and refurbished the original wood.
Upcoming projects include a kitchen renovation and new flooring on the main level. Ryan is taking donations for Becky’s renovation addiction.
The family decorates two trees: the girls’ tree in the front picture window of the house and the “pretty tree” (as the girls call it) in the great room.
Ryan and Becky will be celebrating their 12th wedding anniversary, so enjoy some heart-shaped treats on the tour.
