The 3rd Annual Quilt Show & Me Market were held on November 5th and 6th at the Rock Port High School.
Over 300 people attended the 2-day event. This is the first time that both events were held together. There were 42 vendor booths and 110 quilts on display. The public was encouraged to browse through all the beautiful quilts and then vote on them. A Quilt Appraiser was on hand at the event for those wishing to get Quilt appraisals. The quilts entered in the contest were separated into six different categories. The winners are as follows: Category 1- 100% Hand Made Quilt: 1st- Ginny Vernon, 2nd- Jennifer Flowers; Category 2- 100% Machine Made Quilt: 1st- Peggy Davidson, 2nd- Valerie Duncan; Category 3- 50/50 machine pieced by one and quilted by someone else: 1st- Sharon Clark, 2nd- Barb Fife; Category 4- Mix- Machine pieced and hand quilted: 1st- Irene Fisher, 2nd- Pearl Gerdes; Category 5- Needle work: 1st- Kathy Ungles, 2nd- Kathy Ungles; Category 6- Toppers & Runners: 1st- Pam Estrada, 2nd- Linda Hug; Category 7- Youth 17 & under: 1st- RyAnne Herron; Category 8- Newbie: 1st- Iva Tubbs, 2nd- Ashley Driskell. The Grand Prize Quilt Winner was Kathy Ungles. 2 Budt & A Hug were the guest speakers. Community Hospital- Fairfax had multiple health booths set up. At every health booth there was informative information. Different screenings, questionnaires, and samples were also on hand. The Enchilada Lady and Holy Smokes BBQ provided multiple food options.
