The William White Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at the Breadeaux Pizza in Mound City, called to order by Regent Annamarie Hunziger, with 8 members present. Members recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and sang the National Anthem. Prayer was given by Chaplain, Karen Fischer.
The DAR Ritual was completed before lunch. Recited were The American’s Creed, Preamble of Allegiance to the State of Missouri and Preamble to the Constitution of the United States of America.
Chaplain Fischer gave a short devotion – A Memorial Day Memory/Salute to Veterans.
The President General’s Message was read by Regent Hunziger. A Christmas celebration will be held in Washington, D.C. on December 2, 2016.
All other reports were given.
The minutes of the October 6 meeting were read and approved.
The treasurers report was reviewed and filed for audit.
Members were reminded to keep track of volunteer hours. Volunteer hours for the year were gathered. This information is gathered once a year.
The new Bylaws were updated and revisions passed October 4, 2016. They have been signed and are ready to be sent in.
Karen Miller is now a member of William White. She will be installed at the December 6, meeting.
The “Lights of Love” is a Christmas offering honoring veterans. Funds were collected from anyone who wanted to honor a veteran. The money will be sent to St. Louis Fisher House.
The December 6, meeting will be held at the Rock Port United Methodist Church for a 12:00 luncheon. The Good Citizen Awards will be given at that meeting. Reservations are to be made with Regent Hunziger by November 28, 2016.
After all business was discussed, Regent Annamarie Hunziger adjourned the meeting.
