John Richards American Legion Auxiliary and Past Presidents met Monday, November 7, at the Daybreak Cafe in Fairfax. Everyone recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
Apples were ordered for handing out to school teachers and staff at Fairfax High School. They will be distributed on Monday, November 14, which is National Education Week.
Sheridan Mires, District 4 officer, attended the meeting. She presented information on the Department of Missouri fundraiser pot of gold raffle. Contact Ann Wensel for tickets. The winning ticket drawing will be held in July.
The district meeting will be held March 5, in Rock Port, with registration at 9:30 a.m. and the meeting at 10:00 a.m. Information was received on the Americanism contest. This year’s theme is “How does learning about government and our America help you become a future guardian of the liberties of our country?”
The membership goal is 34, with paid members now at 27.
Members present were Nancy Gaines, Mary Anne Pennel, Mary Graves, Ann Wensel, Norma Bradfield, and Marcia Martin. Guests were Gene Bradfield and K.R. Pennel.
