Hailee Lingerfelt, a seventh grader at Tarkio Jr. High, will be undergoing a craniotomy in December to remove multiple nodules from her temporal lobe. Her neurosurgeon will be able to remove approximately 80-90% of the tumor; however, 10-20% is in the pons of her brain and therefore not able to be surgically removed. Because of this, it is likely she will need chemotherapy following the surgery.
