Hailee Lingerfelt, 13 a seventh grader at Tarkio Jr. High, will be undergoing a craniotomy on December 15 to remove multiple nodules from her temporal lobe. Her neurosurgeon will be able to remove approximately 80-90 percent of the cancerous tumor; however, 10-20 percent is in the pons of her brain and therefore not able to be surgically removed. Because of this, doctors tell her chemotherapy following the surgery could finish the fight.
Hailee’s mother is unable to work at this time due to complications with her pregnancy.
