Sac River Books is pleased to announce the release of the second volume of From the Beginning, the History of the Missouri State High School Basketball Championships. Volume two covers the games, players, coaches and officials of the State High School Basketball tournament from 1999-2016. Authors George Wilson and Robert Vestal published volume one in 2000 and are thrilled to make that continuation available to the public also at this time with added information. There are over 7800 games covered between the two volumes including both girls and boys all the way from the sectional round through the championship contest.
The following schools in our area will have entries, in some cases multiple times: Fairfax- 13 girl entries including a 1980 title and 6 boy entries. Craig- 1 boy entry in 1976. Tarkio- 6 girl entries including a 1999 state title and 7 boy entries. Rock Port- 6 girl entries and 5 boy entries with the most recent being in 2014.
