As 2016 draws to a close, we are thrilled to celebrate our 67th year of providing quality healthcare to our communities. This time of year, we reflect on the past with gratitude for our tremendous donors, staff, patients and the community support that keeps us going. We also excitedly anticipate all that 2017 offers and ask humbly for your support in helping us shape a bright future for our hospital and community.
The Community Healthcare Foundation and Community Hospital-Fairfax (CH-F) invite you to be a part of healthcare in Northwest Missouri by making a donation to the Community Healthcare Foundation. Your contribution is vital to ensuring that quality healthcare will remain in our communities for generations to come. Your family, friends and neighbors rely on us to provide them with best possible care. In the coming year, Community Hospital-Fairfax hopes to make advances and updates that will help us continue to honor that commitment.
What will your generous gift support? Over the next two years, Community Hospital-Fairfax has over $700,000 in capital improvement needs. Your generous contribution will help us meet those needs through purchases including a Panda infant warmer, updates to our radiology equipment, bedside vital sign machines for every room and an anesthesia machine.

Year in Review–
As we reflect upon 2016, the 67th year of Community Hospital-Fairfax, it is easy to appreciate all of our blessings.
New Clinics Open
Excited to bring quality care closer to you, we’ve expanded our service area by adding two new clinics, South Holt Family Medicine in Oregon, Missouri, and West Nodaway Family Medicine in Burlington Junction.
CH-F Welcomes
Lindsay Allan M.D.
We’ve hired a new primary care physician, Lindsay Allan M.D. Dr. Allan has joined the CH-F Family Medicine clinic team and spends one day each week in the E.R.
Doctor Allan said, “I am looking forward to getting to meet new people, getting involved in the community and building relationships with my patients.”
Bariatric Stretcher
Purchased for E.R.
In the fall of 2016, CH-F purchased a new bariatric stretcher for the Emergency Room to help with getting an immediate and accurate weight for patients. This seemingly small advancement enables E.R. doctors and nurses to administer correct doses of medication more quickly and accurately than previous methods. The digital display is easy to read and there is an option for either manual or electric controls, making it simple to adjust the patient’s position for treatment and comfort.
Senior Life Solutions Grows
Since its start, one year ago, Senior Life Solutions continues to grow and improve the lives of those 65 and older. Currently, the program has seen 15 patients, including 4 graduates and continues to receive referrals each month. Senior Life Solutions is an intensive group counseling program designed to help individuals age 65 and older manage life events and the everyday challenges.
Community Health
Needs Assessment
The year 2016 also brought about another Community Health Needs Assessment. The needs assessment was the product of research, focus groups and a community wide survey conducted from January to June 2016. The goal of the assessment was to determine what the greatest health needs were in the community and how Community Hospital-Fairfax can best meet those needs.
The 2016 assessment has indicated that the greatest health needs in Atchison and Holt County population are for more mental health services, primary care access, ability to pay for care and preventive health. Visit our website www.fairfaxmed.com to view the full report.
Looking forward to 2017
As the holiday season approaches we are thankful for all the blessing we have but continually look forward to what the New Year will bring. The Community Healthcare Foundation is raising funds for over $700,000 in capital improvements through 2018.
In the months ahead, we hope to educate you on many of these needs. Your contributions and support make all the difference in our constant pursuit to be the healthcare provider in our communities.
