The Fairfax High School Gym was full of music and elves Monday, December 19, 2016, as the preschool through high school students presented their Christmas program. A soup supper was held in the cafeteria.
The Fairfax R-3 Smart Steps Preschool, under the direction of Mrs. Cara Davis, was the opening act. They sang some Christmas songs, and shared some daily classroom songs and dances.
Debra Wyatt was the director of the K-12 concert.
The fifth and sixth grade choir started the program singing “Have a Merry One” and “Rock the Hall.”
The fifth grade band performed “Jingle Bells,” “Good King Wenceslas,” “Twinkling Stars,” and “Jolly Old St. Nick.”
Kendal Straub sang a solo.
The sixth grade band played “Santa On the Housetop” and “Rockin’ Through the Snow.”
Students from kindergarten through fourth grade performed in the Christmas musical “Elflandia.”
The K-6 performance included the following students: kindergarten – Deyton Burke, Avery Fast, Brenna Kingery, Riley Koop, Jude Long, Aliyah Pearce, and Mason Rentchler; first grade – Ace Allen, Avery Alvarez, Ian Brown, Lataveon Brown, Tyler Duering, Carley Graham, Leila Knight, Knox Oswald, Jaxson Smith, Brady Umbarger, Emma Vance, Ryder Wolfe, and Nevaeh Wooten; second grade – Erin Eyman, Trent Frohn, Skyla Harvey, Mason Kingery, Piper Morris, Carter Oswald, Johnathan Pickard, Tycen Skeen, and Chloe Vernon; third grade – Austin Helfers, Joaquin Hill, Tate Johnson, and Zoey Moore (all elves); fourth grade – KayDee Duering, Kendall Kingery, Lillie Mason, Cowen O’Riley, Grace Oswald, Bryson Palmer, Blake Simmons, Clayton Vernon, Wyatt Wolfe, Velvet Williams, and Payton Woodring (all elves), and Luke Swinehart, Santa; fifth grade – Hailey Bush, flute; Collin Hedlund, percussion; Trenton Kingery, trombone; Tyzjuan Kirkland, baritone; Chloe Potts, clarinet; Destiny Smith, percussion; Jasey Smith, clarinet; Owen Wolf, tuba; Zackary Stevens, and Kendal Straub; sixth grade – Caden Brown, alto sax; Braden Graves, tuba; Natalie Hedlund, flute; Camryn Holecek, clarinet; Cameron Oswald, trumpet; Hayden Riley, percussion; Georgia Swinehart, percussion; Sadie Williams, flute; Zack King, Charlie Litherbury, and Trinity Wooten.
After a short intermission, the program continued with the high school choir singing “Jingle Bells” and “Christmas Shoes.” Singing in the High School Choir were: Leslie Bradley, Karrigan Bowling, Alyssa Garrison, Shanna Gilpin, and Jaelynn Hill, sopranos; Katy Baker, McKenzie Frohn, Tacy Mitchell, and Shelbey Morris, altos; Goldie Barnes, Ben Bowling, Brody Cooper, Dakota Allen, Max Hopkins, Alex Carroll, Conner Marshall, Armando Mendoza, and Shane Wallace, baritones.
The junior high band performed “Santa’s Rockin’ Holiday Mix,” “Christmas Variations,” and “Elf Dance.” Members of the Junior High Band are: Gena Mitchell and Stormie Wallace, clarinet; Raegan Crowley, alto sax; Olivia Morris and Tony Skeen, trumpet; Kaden Cooper and Josh Smith, baritone; Ian Hedlund and Haley Garrison, trombone; Cody Frohn and Eric Gilpin, percussion.
The program closed with the high school band performing “Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “Rejoice the Season,” “Olde English Carol,” “A Holiday Galop,” and “Christmas at the Circus.” Members of the High School Band are: Kilea Cooper, Alyssa Beck, and McKenzie Frohn, flutes; Leslie Bradley, Jaelynn Hill, Karrigan Bowling, and Morgan O’Riley, clarinets; Tacy Mitchell, Wyatt Burke, and Jaycee Graves, alto sax; Katy Baker, tenor sax; Shanna Gilpin, baritone sax; Dakota Allen and Caitlyn O’Riley, trumpet; Tyler Brown and Trey Bowling, baritone; Max Hopkins, tuba; Michael Baker, Mickayla Bowling, Conner Marshall, Shelbey Morris, and Jesse Graves, percussion.
