The Boulware Chevrolet-Buick dealership has been sold to Conley Bennington, Mound City, formerly of Rock Port. The dealership was purchased from Mrs. Mary Boulware. Conley is married to Lois (Herron). They have five children: Ronald, Gary Lynn, Karen Sue, Dale and Gale.

Prosecuting Attorney Bernard Gorman, re-elected in November, and newly-elected Sheriff Jack Millsap were sworn in by County Clerk Don Husing at the Atchison County Courthouse on January 1st.

January 5, 1987
Ron Hunter became the Manager of the Atchison-Holt Electric Cooperative on January 1st. Ron began working for the coop 14 years ago. Ron has been attending Managers’ School, Lincoln University, in Lincoln, Nebraska.

January 2, 1997
Julie Lininger, daughter of Judy Sutter and the late Tom Lininger graduated on December 20th, from the Nebraska Methodist College of Nursing and Allied Health with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
Tami Grossman and Jennifer Brown won two gold medals at the State Special Olympics Bowling Tournament that was held in St. Joseph, MO.

January 4, 2007
A reception was held for Jerry Welch ending his 45- year career at Brown’s Ag Supply.
A benefit hog roast was held in honor of Maureen Moore. Dan and Melanie Athen invited the community to the fundraiser in support of Maureen and her family. The benefit drew a large crowd and donations.
