Thompson honored for 51 years on RPCH board- Luther Thompson was recently presented with a plaque honoring the 51 years he has served on the Rock Port Community Housing, Inc. board. Luther was one of the original community members to join this board in 1965. Thanks to the dedication of Luther and his fellow board members, Fair Oaks Housing has been up and running since it’s original opening.

DAMAGING STORM- Last Thursday, July 7, 2016 storms ripped through Atchison County. From Langdon to Faifax a visible path of damage could be followed. Fairfax fared the worse with downed trees, power lines, and flattened grain bins and buildings.

McGuires start new dog boarding business: K9 Inn LLC- For a community who thrives off of small businesses, welcoming and supporting a new business is crucial to our success. One of Rock Port’s newest business is K-9 Inn LLC, owned and operated by Gary and Terri McGuire.K-9 Inn is just what it sounds; a place for dogs to “check in” and stay while their owners are away. It is designed to provide a comfortable, loving, fun, safe place for your pet. The total facility consists of a 24’ x 36’ climate controlled building with kennels and a play area, and an additional 36’ x 45’ outside play area with 6’ fencing. The furry guests have access to a cage-less, off leash environment to exercise and socialize during the day and evenings, before being kenneled at night.
2016 Rotarian of the Year- On June 30, 2016 Craig Corken was presented the prestigious Rotarian of the Year award.
Craig was chosen for this award for many reasons, especially his many years of dedicated service to Rock Port Rotary and to the Rock Port community.
