Magical production Under the SEA!- The Liberty Theatre was packed with over 400 people this weekend as folks from all over came to witness the magical production of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid”. Magical is the perfect word to describe this play. The crowd is guaranteed to leave in awe at the breathtaking talent of our local youth and adult performers, as well as the costumes and props which really make you feel like you are under the sea.
Starring Josie Watkins as Ariel, this performance takes you through the journey of a young mermaid who longs to live up on the shore with her prince.

Pleasant View welcomes Kent Hohensee as new Administrator- Tiffany Care Centers is excited to welcome Kent Hohensee as the new Administrator of the Pleasant View nursing and rehabilitation facility. Kent’s first day at the facility was Monday, June 6. Kent resides in the Village of Pickrell, NE, with his wife Robbyn and his 3 children Kollyns, 6, Rikki, 4, and Ryan, 5 months old. To welcome Kent, the facility will be hosting a Meet and Greet for the community on June 15, 2016, from 2-3:30 p.m. at Pleasant View, Rock Port, Mo.  

Ribbon Cutting and Rededication Charity Lake celebrates 50 years- Charity Lake became a reality in 1966 when a group of people decided they wanted a recreational lake. The construction of the lake was made possible by the generous donations given by many community members, which is how the name “Charity Lake” was born. On Saturday, June 4th, the public is invited to attend the ribbon cutting and rededication at Charity Lake to celebrate the lake’s 50th anniversary. The ribbon cutting ceremony begins at 11 a.m., followed by complementary food and drinks. The Missouri Department of Conservation is providing a number of fishing poles at the lake for youth and adults on Saturday as well. (Adult permits required) This event, filled with fishing, food and fun, is a perfect way to kick off the summer with family and friends. Please bring your own lawn chairs.

Watkins sings at College World Series- Josie Watkins, daughter of Jason & Sarah Watkins, Rock Port, was selected to sing The National Anthem for a 2016 college world series game.
She sang on June 21, game eight at the TD Ameritrade Park, Omaha, NE. She was awesome!
