Area farmers are invited to attend a meeting titled, “Staying in the Farming Business: Reduce Costs, not Income”. The meeting will be presented in multiple counties. These meetings will start January 4th with a 10 a.m. meeting to be held at the TJ Hall building in Oregon and another at 5 p.m. at the Atchison County Extension office in Rock Port.
The next set of meetings will be start the next morning, January 5th and will be held at 10 a.m. at the Clasbey Center in Savannah and at 5 p.m. at the Conley Building in Maysville. January 6th will only have a morning meeting starting at 10 a.m. at the Nodaway County Administrative Center, in Maryville. These meetings are sponsored by University of Missouri Extension Service and FCS Financial.
Please pre-register by calling the host county Extension office so we can accurately plan meals and materials. Also contact the local host county Extension office to inquire about a fee that is being charged, that is needed to cover meeting expenses. Meeting topics include 2017 crop and livestock budgets, potential savings in different areas of budgets, rental arrangements and agreements, price projections and break-evens. Participants will receive a binder of resources which will help them as they plan for 2017. The meeting audience is both for operators and land lords.
