The East Atchison boys’ and girls’ basketball teams hosted Union Star on Friday, January 6, 2017, in Fairfax, Missouri. Both EA teams had a fantastic night and won their games. Brody Cooper, a senior basketball player for the Wolves, was recognized for scoring his 1,000th career basketball point, scored November 28, 2016.
The EA girls won their game 61-8. Goldie Barnes led the Lady Wolves with 17 points, followed by Jaycee Graves with 11 points, Chloe Bruns with six, Kilea Cooper and Shelby McCartney with five each (Kilea also had one three-pointer), Lily Graves, Madison Ohrt, and Alyssa Garrison with four each, Tawni Martin and Kinley Thornhill with two each, and Grace Martin with one.
The EA boys won 74-30. Garrett Meyer scored 20 points for the Wolves, followed by Jake McEnaney with 14, Colin Joesting with 12, Gage McAdams and Mason Straub with five each (Gage had one three-pointer), Tyler Brown, Zach Garrison, Gus Hurst, and Brody Cooper with four each, and Shae DeRosier with two.
