The East Atchison Wolves had a fantastic night in their first basketball games since Christmas break. The teams traveled to DeKalb to compete in conference contests on January 3, 2017.
The jr. varsity Lady Wolves lost their game 11-35. Chloe Bruns scored five points for EA, followed by Kaely Kirwan, Kinley Thornhill, and Novalee Yeary with two each.
The varsity Lady Wolves defeated DeKalb 50-35. Jaycee Graves led EA with 12 points, followed by Kilea Cooper with 10 (one three-pointer), Lily Graves and Shelby McCartney with six each, Tawni Martin with five, Madison Ohrt with three, and Chloe Bruns, Goldie Barnes, Kinley Thornhill, and Alyssa Garrison with two each.
The varsity Wolves defeated DeKalb 62-27. Garrett Meyer led EA with 26 points, followed by Jake McEnaney with 11, Brody Cooper with six points (one three-pointer), Trey Bowling and Tyler Brown with six points each, Colin Joesting with five (one three-pointer), and Gage McAdams with two. Coach Robbie Bates remarked, “The boys put together a solid team effort and took care of business. They continue to get better.”
