The Commission met on Thursday, January 12, 2017. Present were: Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood; North District Commissioner Jim Quimby; South District Commissioner Richard Burke; and Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission.
Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood called the meeting to order.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Bills were reviewed, approved and ordered paid.
Maintenance Supervisor Greg Beck was in to discuss repairs needed at the Sheriff Office. The commission approved the requested repairs to the foundation as requested.
ACDC Director Monica Bailey was present to discuss Great Northwest Day in Jefferson City and update the commission on Atchison County Development.
Atchison County Clerk, Susette Taylor presented the 2017 Budget Message and 2017 Budget for review and final approval. At 10:00 a.m. Presiding Commissioner, Curtis Livengood opened the Final Public Budgetary Hearing according to Section 540.600, RSMo. South District Commissioner Richard Burke made a motion to accept the 2017 Budget as presented. North District Commissioner Jim Quimby seconded the motion. Presiding Commissioner Livengood called for discussion, there being none. A roll call vote to approve the 2017 Budget as presented was as follows: Livengood – yes; Quimby – yes and Burke – yes.
Sheriff Dennis Martin was in to visit with the Commission about department matters.

The Commission met on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, this being the 5th day of the regular January term. Present were: Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood; North District Commissioner Jim Quimby; and South District Commissioner Richard Burke. Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission was at the Missouri Association of Counties January board meeting.

Board members of the Langdon Special Road District Petitioned the Commission according to RSMo 137.565 asking the Commission, of the County in which such district is located, submit the question in such district for the purpose of voting for or against the levy of the tax provided for in the second sentence of the first paragraph of section 12 of article X of the Constitution of Missouri.
LANGDON SPECIAL ROAD DISTRICT PROPOSITION
Shall the Langdon Special Road District of Atchison County levy a tax rate of thirty-five cents ($0.3500) on the hundred dollars valuation, for a period of four (4) years? This is a continuation of the existing tax.
Commission inspected some county roads.

Road and Bridge Supervisor Adam Meyer was in to request bidding a snow plow that was in his new budget. The commission approved the bid opening for February 7th at 9:30 a.m.

The commissioners discussed the roundtable meeting they all attended at the Velma Houts Building with the Atchison County Levee District and representatives from Senator Blunt’s Office; Senator McCaskill’s Office; Congressman Graves’ Office and Senator Dan Hegeman. Kathy Holstien, Holt County was a guest that presented a wealth of information related to the Missouri River, the Missouri Levee and Drainage District Association, and concerns the Levee Districts face and will face. The Commission invited the Levee Board Members to attend the Tuesday, January 31st meeting of the Commission to further discuss concerns.

The Commission reviewed and approved the 2017 Intergovernmental Agreement with the Tarkio Special Road District for distribution of funds. The agreement was signed and forwarded to the Board for their approval and signatures.
Maintenance Supervisor Greg Beck presented a list of potential improvements needed to the property and buildings this year and requested the commission to prioritize them as they would like them to be done.
