Harold Hulett, 24, became Rock Port’s new city marshal this week, replacing Mearl Lytle, who held the office one day before resigning. Lytle was to take the place of Carl “Irish” Andermann, who has been city marshal since October, 1966.

February 3, 1977
After working nearly 57 years at the Bank of Atchison County, Rock Port, George I. Beasing, 75, former bank board of directors chairman, is sort of retiring. He is sort of retiring because he has resigned as board chairman and will not have an official capacity at the bank, but he will be on the job there as a consultant for the bank and its 3 B’s Insurance Agency.

February 5, 1987
The Bank of Atchison County with regret and pride announced the resignation of Senior Vice-President K. Jim Lewis. Jim started working at the Bank of Atchison County Jan. 2, 1973, and will be putting his 14 years of experience to work in an upward move for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

February 6, 1997
Cherished Cherubs a Christian child care ministry of the First Lutheran Church, was dedicated Sunday, February 2, 1997. This momentous undertaking has taken a great deal of planning and effort. They opened their doors Monday, February 3, 1997, with fifteen children.

February 1, 2007
The annual Maradi Mifflin Spelling Bee was held at Rock Port Schools for 5th – 8th grade students. The Bee took place on Thursday, January 25, 2007. The top 8 were 1st- Kade Perry, 2nd- Cole Wilczek, 3rd- Josie Crow, 4th- Erin Mulvania, 5th- Hayley Christian, 6th- Hayden Wood, 7th- Allison Lawrence and 8th- Alex Garst.
