The Fairfax fifth graders won the second annual chili cook-off for the second year in a row.
The Fairfax second graders auctioned off a quilt made of Bulldog shirts to raise money for the new playground.
The Fairfax Bulldogs defeated the Craig Hornets 78-60 in conference basketball action. The Lady Bulldogs defeated the Lady Hornets 69-39.

Students were chosen for Student of the Month for January. They were Chad Sillers, Brooke Osburn, Pepé Cooper, and Jon Graves.
“Dietary Managers Pride in Food Service Week” was observed February 3-7 at Community Hospital. The staff consists of JoAn Whittington, Lila Norton, Jan Murphy, Jutta Slemp, Becky Chastain, Ann Wensel, Cassie Monroe, Donna Helfer, Phyllis Collins, and Tammy Robbins.
Jayne Graves and Kelly Sites were named FHS Officers, Jayne as State Vice-President and Kelly as Regional Parliamentarian.

Six Fairfax R-III seniors made high marks on the Missouri state-wide testing program recently. The six, who rank in the upper one-fifth of their class, are also rated in the upper one-fifth of the state. The seniors are Jacque Williams, Jerry Schooler, Richard Whitford, Steve Grubb, Danny Golden, and Susan O’Riley.
