John “Jack” Jones, age 75 of Craig, Missouri, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017, at his home in Craig. He was born January 15, 1942, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to Earlena (Wilfong) Jones-Coin and James Thomas Jones.
Jack was preceded in death by his mother, Earlena, father, James (Jim), sister, Erma (Jones) Points-Wren, and infant sisters, Emilee Jones and Margie Jones.
Survivors include: Jack’s wife of 55 years, Yvette Kay (Agnew) Jones of the home; son, John Jones, Jr. (Diana); daughters, Colette Rogers (Gene), Jerry Jones (Bill Hale) of Craig, Missouri; Chris Anderson of Daytona, Florida; and Margie (Tony) Day of Aurora, Missouri; sisters, Jane (Melvin) McDowell, Billy (JB) Taylor, Joe Montgomery, Jeanette Caudill, Joetta (Dennis) Thurnau, Jenny (Gerald) Burge, and Judy (Leslie) Fitzgerald; brothers, Jimbo (Cindy) Jones and Jesse (Nancy) Jones; 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jack worked many jobs through the years. He was employed by Ogden Logging Co., Joplin, Missouri; City of Council Bluffs Street Maintenance; Phillips Basket Co. in Omaha, Nebraska; Holt County, Missouri, Bridge and Road, and Ed Coin Salvage Yard, Mound City, Missouri.
A memorial service, officiated by Jordan Scott, was held at the Craig Legion Building (the former Craig Christian Church) on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at 2 p.m. in Craig, Missouri. A graveside service will be planned at a later date in the IOOF Cemetery in Craig, Missouri.
