Diane Francis, founder of Lettuce Dream in Northwest Missouri, was the guest speaker at the Tuesday, January 31, 2017, meeting of the Tarkio Rotary Club. Lettuce Dream, a new business located in Maryville, is a non-profit corporation formed to expand options for individuals with cognitive and developmental disabilities. Workers learn agricultural and business skills, develop work ethics, focus on potential rather than limitations, have an avenue for social skill development, and community participation. Lettuce is planted and grown hydroponically by the workers for local consumers at the location near Pizza Ranch in Maryville. (Submitted By Anita Sutter)
