The William White Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at the home of Ruth Rother in Mound City. Regent Annamarie Hunziger called the meeting to order with 7 members present. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the Unites States of America was recited followed by singing of the National Anthem, led by Donna Kunkel.
Regent Hunziger gave the program about Museums in Holt and Atchison Counties. The program for next month’s meeting will be on the History of Holt County, given by Carolyn Fansher and Donna Heck.
The DAR Ritual was completed, reciting The American’s Creed, Preamble of Allegiance to the State of Missouri and Preamble to the Constitution of the United States of America.
Chaplain Fischer read a short devotional titled, “SMILE.”
Annamarie Hunziger gave the President General’s Message. The DAR Building and Statue in Washington, D.C. are okay after the march there at the Inauguration.
National Defense Report was given by Regent Hunziger.
Women’s Issues were given by Marjorie Field.
The minutes of the last meeting were reviewed and approved.
The Treasurer’s report was reviewed and approved for audit.
The State Regent’s Tea will be held in St. Joseph on Saturday, February 18. Ruth Rother and Annamarie Hunziger will be greeters for the meeting. Ruth Rother made patriotic pillowcases as a gift for the Regent.
The March meeting will be held at The Klub in Mound City at 11 a.m.
After all old and new business were discussed, Regent Hunziger adjourned the meeting.
Chaplain Karen Fischer gave the prayer after which we proceeded to have lunch of homemade vegetable soup, cookies and ice cream.
