Kenneth N. Bowman, 88, of Rock Port, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017.
He was born on October 12, 1928 in Fairfax, Missouri, one of seven children of Clifford and Beulah (Harmon) Bowman.
Kenneth served as a sergeant in the U.S. Marines, and was stationed at Camp Pendleton and San Francisco. He was honorably discharged in 1951.
Following the military Kenneth farmed, and then in 1956 moved to Chicago to join some of his brothers. He worked at Bell and Howell for 15 years before returning to Rock Port. He then farmed until 1981, when he became a security guard for Missouri Beef Packers. Kenneth retired from the beef plant in 1991.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Stanley, Jerry, Robert and William Bowman; and sister, Julie Shaw.
Kenneth is survived by his sister, Joan Case of Watson, Missouri, and nieces and nephews, including Sheila Cooper of Rock Port, Deborah Crain of Hamburg, Iowa, Tim and Mike Shaw of Tarkio, Missouri, and Angela Balle of Burlington Junction, Missouri.
Services with military rites were held on Monday, March 20, 2017 at the Linden Church of Rock Port. A private family inurnment was held at Linden Cemetery.
